ACT (Alcohol Clinical Training) Project

http://www.bu.edu/act/mdalcoholtraining/slides/index.html

Established by the Boston Medical Center and Boston University Schools of Medicine and Public Health, this Alcohol Screening and Brief Intervention Curriculum features online and print-based materials that can be used for self-study and group instruction.

The website includes informational slides with speaker overlay and trainer notes, 3 case simulation videos with adult patients, curricula instructions, tips for small/large group teaching, and pre/post tests. The target audience for this curriculum is primary care physicians and physicians in training, as well as generalist clinicians and educators. The curriculum uses the CAGE, an alcohol screening instrument, and is based on the “Helping Patients Who Drink Too Much” core curriculum from NIAAA.
